Valentine's Sensory Tub

I LOVE sensory tubs! When my daughter just needs a break or I do lol it great entertainment. To feel the rice run through your fingers is such a calming feeling. H "makes sand castles" lol and pours, dumps, scoops, and plays for a long time. Great for when other kids come over. I am going to get a little dust pan and broom to go next to it so she can learn responsibility to clean up the ones that fall out too.
I make it in a gallon size ziploc bag. I add 4-5 pumps of hand sanitizer and 8-10 drops of food coloring and mix in closed bag. then let it sit for about 12-24 hours it is actually ready before that but I usually make things like this after I put my little one to bed so it sits overnight. good luck it is supper easy.

valentines file folder games

I found an old box of preschool stuff and found these two games and pulled them out for Hailey I made them back in 2003-2004 sometime so not sure where I printed the top game from but most preschool theme based websites have where you can print file folder games for free, Or you can make your own like I did with stickers you can get really creative with them. These are a great way teach Math! The basics for math is counting, matching, and sorting. I recommend laminating them so they last longer and are more durable. Also get a second manila folder and glue small pieces to and cut them out so they are stronger as well.

On this game all the shapes and colors are about the same but the patterns with in the hearts are different so she really has to pay attention to detail when matching.

On this game I have different shapes and sizes of valentine stickers and stamps for her to match together.

Valentine's Decor

I really like all the cute Valentines stuff but money is tight so I decided to make my own art. This cost me nothing cause I had all the paints, and a canvas. The canvas at the store is $3.99 and paints about $1 each. This just made me smile.

Valentine's painted

After she painted her heart stamping she had a lot of paint leftover so she wanted to paint more so I cut out a heart and let her finger paint then she wanted a paint brush like mommy:) so here is what she did.

Heart stamping

I started some Valentines day art a little early. I was making a painting for the house and my daughter woke up and saw me so she wanted to paint hearts too. I gave her some heart shaped cookie cutters and let her go to town with them, she loved it.

Lemon sugar cookies

I made cookies out of a cake mix! I found this recipe at Betty Crocker website! It is so awesome I didn't have white cake so I used lemon and omitted the cinnamon. So it was just sugar it rolled in I am sure you could do this with any cake mix.

Recognizing letters in name

My little one knows how to spell her name and recognizes the letters in her name but I wanted to see if she could find it in a letter search style. So, I got sticky notes and put all the letters in the ABC's on post its and stuck them on the wall. First I challenged her to find all the letters in her name. when she archived that I had her put all the letters in order. My husband was pretty impressed.

Blueberry Jell-O

My mother in law made this when she was visiting earlier in the week and my daughter loved it. And it couldn't be simpler to make. you can use any fruit or flavor jello.

Instant Jello Berry Blast
4oz Whip cream
Fresh blueberries

All you do is make instant Jello we used Berry Blast according to instructions and refrigerated for an hour and half. Then you add half of a tub 8oz whip cream and fresh blueberries and stir it in, and refrigerate.

I was super impressed. I also surprised her with a special play dough theme of turkeys today. She was super excited and made several different kinds of turkeys.

Peanut butter sandwich cookies

These are amazing!!! I learning the recipe from a cousin about 5 years ago and have to make them seasonally every year. It is so easy but a little time consuming. Only problem is that once you start to eat them you can't stop!!
Ingredients:
Almond Bark chocolate flavored coating
Box of Ritz crackers
Peanut butter
Wax paper
You make little sandwiches with the Ritz and peanut butter. then you melt the chocolate for dipping. I melt it in a glass bread loaf pan in the microwave. You start it off for 90 seconds stir the chocolate and then continue for 30 seconds at a time till is melted. Then you roll the Ritz in the chocolate and place on wax paper to cool.

November words

I made a list of words that are associated with November so H could see them as we talked about the words through out the month. This helps with the start of word recognition and promotes letter writing.

What we are thankful for

I did the classic "what are you thankful for?" with H. She had some really sweet answers and some funny ones. I made several leaves for each of us and put it up using fishing line from doorway in front part of house. Some of H's answers: daddy staying home with me all day, zoo, children's museum, mommy and daddy, Nana and paw paw, friend Kiera, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, writing my name, and yogurt smoothies lol.

Halloween

Here is a picture of H in her ladybug costume I made her and the trick or treat bag I made her (it doesn't match the costume but it is for many years so it is just Halloween themed. I got the idea for the bag here)

Hailey wrote her name

First time H has wrote her whole name! I was so impressed. She looked at her name card I made her and copied it.

Ghost shaving cream art

OK I am trying to catch up my daughter was sick and then my friend had a baby and I kept her other 2 children while she was in the hospital so I have not had time to post this. I did find this project on someone elses blog and don't remember who's it was so if it was yours please let me know so I can give you credit for it. H had so much fun doing this I often let her play with shaving cream as a sensory project she loves it so when I saw this cute ghost I knew I had to try it. It is 3 parts shaving cream 1 part glue I cut out the ghost and provided H with the ingredients and let her go when she was done exploring I let her chose where the eyes go to my surprise she put them on perfect and then we added glitter.

Homemade bats and tshirts

We went to a birthday party and they had black bats all over for decoration and H feel in love with them. She asked if I could make her some. So I found an old pattern of a bat and got a piece of foam, cut them out and put them up with sticky tack.

The shirt I made for the pumpkin patch. I found the wonder in wonder under. lol. you iron it to back side of fabric cut out a shape peel off paper on back of wonder under and iron it on the shirt. what could be easier. It stayed wonderfully but after washing the fabric started to slightly wear so I am going to add a zig zag stitch around it.
